Seat & Meals Review ! Malaysia Airlines A 330 Business Class (SYD-KUL)

This Review is the Malaysian Airline Business Class that I used to fly from Sydney, Australia to Tokyo and to transfer to Kuala Lumpur. My flight number is MH 122. It leaves Sydney at 13: 05 and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 19: 55.

This is my third post about Malaysia Airlines Business Class, but this time I took a different seat. This flight has the same A 330 equipment as the last time, but I was very surprised that the ride quality would change so much depending on the seat you choose!

Is A seat of A 330 narrow?

I already wrote about Malaysia Airlines’ A 330 aircraft in an earlier article. The business class seats are alternated between 1 -2 -2 and 1 -2 -1, but the seat I chose was 2A.

Unlike the seats in row K, the seats in row A are called “Staggered” where seats for 1 person are arranged alternately. The chairs and side tables are arranged in opposite directions, but odd seats have aisle seats, so people sitting here may bump into people passing through the aisle.

I chose an even number of seats, so there is no need to worry about that. But when I sat here, I felt very cramped. Because the A 330 plane has a sloped wall, so there is less space next to my head. If this business class were B 777, I would not feel small.

Therefore, I recommend you to sit in row K rather than row A in the business class seat of Malaysia Airlines A 330.

Lunch time in-flight meal menu

The in-flight meal served on this flight includes a lunch course and a la carte. There are 3 kinds of lunch menu, appetizer, main dish and dessert, and you can choose from the list of each menu.

But I didn’t choose the main dish from the list, I chose it from the Chef on Call menu. Chef-on-Call is a service that you can reserve from the homepage of Malaysia Airlines, and you can choose from several menus in advance. I have written about this before.

The beef I chose “Grilled Filet Mignon” is well-done and delicious! I usually find it difficult to eat good beef in business class but this beef steak is a complete lie.

I recommend you to choose the beef menu if you are taking Malaysia Airlines business class from Sydney!

Delicious champagne and wine

The drink I had at the in-flight meal on this flight was also delicious! I have already written about this taste, but this DUVAL-LEROY BRUT is the best among many airline business classes!

Besides champagne, I ordered a red wine named Bodega Piedra Negra Malbec Reserve. The market price is about $20, but the wine has a fruity sweetness and is delicious! This is by no means the taste of cheap wine.

We can order a la carte menu anytime!

After the first meal, passengers can order a la carte at any time. I ordered “Black Angus Meet Pie” and “Cheese selection” 2 hours before arrival time, but this cheese has no bad smell and smooth taste. This is so delicious!

Other menus include Egg Noodles, but I tried it on another flight. If you’re interested in Egg Noodles, check out the article.

We can get a ticket of Premier Lane.

After the meal, I received an orange ticket from CA. This is a ticket to enter Premier Lane at Kuala Lumpur Airport, and if you have it, you can go through immigration in a short time.

The immigration control area at Kuala Lumpur Airport is getting more and more crowded every year, and when I went to immigration without the ticket, it took me more than an hour to complete it.

This time I will not use this ticket because I will not enter Kuala Lumpur and will be transferring to the next flight. I will therefore reserve this ticket for the next opportunity.

  • Seat:★★★★★★★
  • Meal:★★★★★★★
  • Service:★★★★★
  • Price:1,386USD (Round trip)
  • Total score:65 / 100

What I think about this Malaysian Airline Business Class is that the seat selection is very important. The seat of row A where I sat this time has only 66% of the space compared to the seat for 1 person of row K, so I am very narrow.
